Description

16 Lower Brook Street is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house. It has a jettied upper storey and a moulded bressumer. The house is two storeys high, with attics and cellars. It has a four-window front, featuring 18th-century double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set within flush cased frames. A central four-panel door is topped with a shallow fanlight and framed by a moulded wooden architrave. The roof is tiled, with two gabled dormers and a modillion wood eaves cornice. The building forms a group with numbers 6 to 18 (even) and 18A, along with numbers 7, 9 and 15.
