Description

Nos 19 and 21 Lower Brook Street are a 17th century timber-framed and plastered building, which has undergone considerable restoration and reconditioning. The building extends to two storeys with attics and cellars, and has a four-window front. The windows are casements with two or three lights, featuring glazing bars. The ground floor windows are topped with hood moulds. Two six-panel doors with raised and fielded panels, each accompanied by a rectangular fanlight and a hood mould, provide access. A moulded band runs horizontally between the two storeys. The roofs are tiled, with two gabled dormers featuring carved bressumers. The building is set back approximately 35 feet from the street frontage. Nos 19 to 39 (odd) form a group.
