Description
37 Lower Brook Street is a 18th-century building with a plastered front that has been pebble-dashed, likely covering an earlier 17th-century timber-framed and plastered structure. The building has two storeys, attics, and cellars. The street front features a three-window range, while the north gable end has one window range, with the attics lit by windows in the gable ends. These windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in cased frames. Above the ground storey windows, there is a moulded band. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, framed by a wood doorcase that has a reeded architrave and cornice. At the rear, there is a wing that extends east with a two-window range. The front roof is tiled and features a wood eaves cornice, while the rear roof is covered with slate. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 19 to 39 (odd) and also forms a group with Nos 30A and 32.
