Description

This is an 18th-century building on the west side of Lower Brook Street. The front of the building is brick, now painted, and has a plinth. It is two storeys high with an attic, and the front elevation is divided into five bays, arranged as a group of two, one, and then two bays. It has double-hung sash windows in flush cased frames. The windows on the first storey have glazing bars, while the ground-floor windows do not. A raised stucco band separates the two storeys. The central entrance is marked by an 8-panel door with glazed upper panels, set within a good quality wooden doorcase featuring fluted pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a cornice. The roof is tiled, with a wooden cornice embellished with modillions, and there are three flat-headed dormers. Nos 30A and 32, together with Nos 37 and 39, form a visually cohesive group.
