Description
Nos 10 and 12 St Nicholas Street is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th century. It features exposed timber-framing and has a jettied upper storey across the entire front, supported by exposed joists. The building has two large gables that slightly project, adorned with carved bargeboards, and casements that light the attics. It consists of two storeys, attics, and cellars, with a three-window range of three-light mullioned casements featuring lattice leaded lights. The ground storey has 20th-century shops designed in a period style, and some restoration work has been carried out. The roofs are tiled. Nos 10 to 24 (even) form a group of small timber-framed and plastered houses from the 16th to 17th century, some of which have been altered in the 18th century and later.
