23 St Nicholas Street is an early to mid-19th century brick house that has been painted. The building has two storeys and cellars, featuring a three-window range where the centre window is blocked. The outer windows are double-hung sashes without glazing bars, set in flush cased frames, and are positioned within slightly recessed brick panels. The ground storey includes a 20th-century shop.
