The central entrance consists of an eight-panel door topped with a semi-circular fanlight that also has glazing bars, flanked by fluted pilasters and an open pediment. At the south end, there is a three-storey red brick extension with a two-window range, also featuring double-hung sashes with glazing bars in flush cased frames. The main block has a tiled roof with three flat-headed dormers, while the extension is slated. Knapton House is part of a group with Nos 6 to 18 (even) and No 18A, as well as Nos 7, 9, and 15.
