An early 19th century cast iron milestone is located on the north side of St Margaret's Street, outside the Mulberry Tree public house. This milestone is the first in a series that mark the distance between Ipswich and Yarmouth. It is inscribed with the following distances: St Margt P: Yarmouth 54 miles, Woodbridge 7 miles, and Colchester 18 miles.
