Description

This is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house, which was altered in the 18th century and has a painted brick front. The house is two storeys high, with attics and cellars, and has two windows on each floor. The windows are 19th-century double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars. The ground floor has one three-light window and a 19th-century shop window. The entrance is protected by an 18th-century doorcase with pilasters and a cornice, and the door itself is made of wood. The roof is tiled, with two dormers.

Numbers 26 to 30 (even), together with numbers 10 and 12, numbers 21 and 23, the Church of St Margaret, and numbers 2 to 6 (even) Bolton Lane, form a notable group.
