Description
No. 8 Soane Street is a late 18th-century red brick house that stands two storeys tall with attics and cellars. It features a three-window range with double-hung sashes that have glazing bars, set in painted reveals. A stucco band runs along the first-storey window sill level. The house has two six-panel doors, each topped with semi-circular fanlights that include radial glazing bars and are framed by reeded architraves. The roof is covered with slate and includes two flat-headed dormers, along with a moulded wood eaves cornice.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 2 to 8 (even), No. 1 (Lodge to Christchurch Mansion), the Entrance Wall and Gates to Christchurch Park, and the Brick Wall to St Margaret's Churchyard, along with Nos. 56 and 58 (Cafe Blanchfleur) on St Margaret's Street.
