Description

No. 5 High East Street is a late 18th-century building constructed of red brick, with some grey headers. It features rubbed brick voussoirs and has a pitched slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with attics and includes three ranges of sash windows with glazing bars. There are two flat-topped attic dormers with casement windows. The ground floor has a mid-19th century shopfront that is decorated with panelled pilasters and an entablature. Additionally, there is a nine-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight. Nos. 1 to 9, along with No. 7A, form a group with the Kingdom Hall and The Old House at Home on Salisbury Street.
