Description

This is a mid-18th century building on High East Street. It is a six-window brick fronted building of two storeys and an attic. The building has a stone plinth and a tile roof with slate verges. The doorway features a moulded wooden architrave, fluted Ionic pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, a dentil cornice and a pediment. The windows have flat brick arches and stone keys. The building has a wooden cornice with dentils. Internally, there is a contemporary staircase handrail ramped to columnar newels. A garage front has been inserted on the left-hand side of the ground floor. The building is part of a group, which also includes Nos 1 to 9 (consec), No 7A, the Kingdom Hall, and The Old House at Home on Salisbury Street.
