Description
St Margaret's Church House is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house featuring three gables that jet out above the first storey. A carved bressummer, supported by brackets shaped like human heads, is dated 1682. The front of the house has been altered in the 18th century and later. It has two storeys and attics, with a five-window range of double-hung sashes that include glazing bars, set in flushed cased frames. The windows on the first storey beneath the end gable at the south end extend the full height of the storey. The ground storey is constructed of brick, which is now painted. The front is enclosed by 19th-century cast iron railings. The roofs are tiled, and there are two 19th-century red brick chimney stacks with moulded caps and bases.
