Description
No. 2 High Street is a house and shop, now used as an office and flat. It dates from the early 19th century and was altered in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped roof covered with machine tiles, complete with cresting and finials, and has no chimney stacks.
The exterior has a two-storey front with two windows facing High Street. The ground floor has a modern plate glass shop front, while the first floor features two 8/0 horned sash windows. A moulded eaves cornice extends along the front and returns along the Church Street side.
On the Church Street side, the former house front includes a central door flanked by two 8/0 horned sash windows, all three openings topped with pediments. At the far left end, there is another 8/0 horned sash window on the ground floor. The first floor has two 8/0 horned sash windows on either side of a central cross gable.
The interior has been converted for office use.
