Description
No.16 Kirkgate is a house, dating to around 1800, and later used as a shop. It has undergone alterations in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick, with a colourwashed front and a pantile roof. It features dentillated eaves and a single ridge stack. The house is three storeys high, with a single glazing bar sash window on each floor. The upper window is smaller than the one below, and both have segmental heads. A late 20th-century shop front, designed in a late 19th-century style, occupies the front, with a panelled stallboard, pilasters, and a cornice. To the right of the shop front is a glazed doorway with an overlight, and to the left a single window. A round-headed entry with a moulded four-panel door is located to the right.
