Description

This is a mid-19th century house, later used as a newspaper office. It has been altered in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stucco detailing and has a concrete tile roof. Horizontal bands mark the first and second floors, and the eaves are dentillated. A single gable stack is also present. The facade is three storeys high, originally featuring a three-window arrangement of plain sash windows, with the central window being blank. Above these, a central blank window is flanked to the left by a 20th-century two-light casement window and to the right by an imitation sash window. All windows have splayed lintels with keystones. At ground level, an off-centre glazed door is flanked by plate glass windows; the right-hand window is larger and both are set beneath a plastic fascia.
