GV II

House. Late C16, refaced and partly rebuilt c1760; rear wing C19 and C20. C16 core is timber-framed, faced in plastered and colourwashed brick; pantile roofs, main roof hipped, with left of centre ridge stack and external right end stack, of brick. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 6-window front. Right of centre 6-panel door and blocked 6-vane fanlight in reeded doorcase with panelled reveals. Fenestration of 6/6 unhorned sashes except for three horned replacements. INTERIOR: exposed timber-frame to original rear wall now internal; frame has jowled principal studs rising to tie beams. Ground floor: two principal rooms at front lined with large frame panelling with dado rails. Fireplace in hall retains some late C16 brick. C19 gas light fittings intact. One chamfered bridging beam in rear extension. Roof largely rebuilt in C20.
