Description

A pair of houses located in Saxmundham, dating to around 1840, with alterations in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof and brick end stacks. They have a three-storey, three-window front. A pair of central doorways are positioned beneath segmental arches; the doorway to No.16 retains an original 19th-century plank door, while the doorway to No.14 has a 20th-century replacement. A single window is located on either side, with the first and second floor windows symmetrically arranged around blind centre windows. No.14 has had its 19th-century casement windows replaced with top-hung casements, while No.16 retains its original three-light 19th-century casements. The ground and first floor window openings have segmental arches, whereas the second-floor openings have flat arches. The interior was not inspected.
