Description
No. 10 High Street is a house that now functions as a house and shop. It was built in the early 19th century, with the front raised to three storeys around 1840, and features a 20th-century shop front. The front is faced in gault brick, while the sides and rear are constructed of red brick. The front roof is covered in slate, and the rear roof is finished with pantiles.
The exterior has a three-storey, three-window facade. To the right is the shop front, and to the left is an 8/8 unhorned recessed sash window situated under a panelled and stuccoed gauged arch. The first floor has three similar sash windows. In the attic storey, there are three smaller centre-hung casements, each with eight panes. The building features prominent eaves guttering supported on brackets, and the rear elevation has two storeys with eaves that retain a dentilled cornice.
The interior of the ground floor has been opened out to accommodate the shop premises.
