Description

This house, now a combined house and shop, was likely built around 1790. It was extended in the mid-20th century and features a shop front inserted in the early 20th century. The exterior is colourwashed brick with a roof of black-glazed pantiles, including a central ridge stack and three gabled dormers, each with a three-light casement window.

The two-storey front has a three-window arrangement. The ground floor has a plate-glass shop front on the right side of the elevation, which extends to the center. A panelled door and a three-by-three sash window, without horns, are located to the left, both set within segmental arches. A platband, a decorative band, runs along the first floor of number 25. Above this are three first-floor sash windows, also with a three-by-three glazing pattern and set within square heads. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The right-hand return is partially obscured by a screen wall belonging to the adjacent Market Hall.

The ground floor interior has been opened up to create the shop space.
