Description

This house, now combined with a shop, was built around 1800, with additions made in the mid-19th century and alterations in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick with stone details and has a slate roof. The eaves have decorative dentils, and the gables are coped. It has a single gable and a single rear wall stack. The building is laid out in an L-shape.

The front elevation is three storeys high and has a three-window arrangement of sash windows with rubbed brick heads. The windows have glazing bars. Above these, there are three similar sash windows, with the central one being blank. A shop front was added in the late 19th century and altered in the late 20th century. It has a rendered surround, a splayed doorway to the left, and a single-pane window to the right, all under a continuous fascia.

A colourwashed rear wing, facing Mount Lane, features a first-floor band and cogged and dentillated eaves. It has two segment-headed sash windows and a gabled dormer above with a two-light casement window. The central entrance has a beaded panelled door with an overlight, flanked to the left by a sash window with a segmental head. To the right, there is a metal-framed casement window with a segmental head.
