Description
Kirkwood House is a house built around 1840, with a late 20th-century addition at the rear. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings, has a rendered right gable, and features a slate roof. The building includes a first-floor sill band, rebated eaves, and a single gable stack. The windows have splayed lintels and the house has a double range plan. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range of glazing bar sashes. On the right side, there is a stone doorcase with scroll brackets supporting a flat hood, leading to a fielded six-panel door with a glazing bar overlight. To the left of the door, there are two sashes. The left gable features a 19th-century canted two-storey bay window with three glazing bar sashes on each floor, and to its right, there is a segment-headed stair light.
