Description
Old Bank House, now used as offices, is a house with railings attached to the steps at the front. It was built around 1830 and has been converted, altered, and extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed of gault brick and features a hipped roof made of black-glazed pantiles, with brick stacks on the end roof slopes. The front has three storeys and a basement, with a five-window facade. The central entrance consists of 4-panelled double-leaf doors framed by thin pilaster strips and a plain entablature. On either side of the entrance are two unhorned sash windows with six panes each, set under stuccoed skewback lintels. The first floor has five similar sash windows, and the second floor has five 3/3 sash windows. The left side of the building has an added bay window, while the rear features two-storey extensions. The interior does not contain any features of particular interest, and the staircase has been altered. The front railings, which are made of cast iron, have spear-head finials.
