Description
No. 84 Derby Road is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices. It dates from the late 18th century and has been altered in the mid-19th century and 20th century. The building is made of painted brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with two brick gable stacks. It has a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and moulded eaves. The openings are mainly original, featuring wedge lintels and double keystones. The building is three storeys high with a three-window range. The central door has been renewed and includes an overlight, with a reglazed window to the right. To the left, there is a late 19th-century wooden shopfront with pilasters, a two-light window, a panelled riser, and a side door. Above the shopfront, there are three plain sash windows, with the central opening missing its keystone. Above these, there are three smaller glazing bar sashes.
