Description

No. 6 Hallgate is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices. It was built in the mid-19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is made of red brick, featuring gauged brick and stone dressings, and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor has a modern shop front that spans its full width. On the first floor, there are two blocked windows, while above them are two plate-glass sash windows. All the windows are fitted with projecting stone sills and have gauged brick flat arches with keystones. The eaves are stepped and cogged. The building does not have any chimney stacks and is included in the register primarily for its group value.
