Description
62 to 68 Derby Road is a row of four houses that have been converted into shops. They were built in the early 19th century and have undergone alterations in the mid and late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and feature gabled and hipped slate roofs. There are single gable and two ridge stacks that are coped. A first-floor sill band and wooden eaves, which have been partly renewed, are present. The structure is three storeys high and has seven windows across the front and two windows deep. The two ranges of houses are slightly stepped and include a rounded corner entrance bay. The ground floor has continuous shopfronts from the mid and late 20th century. The corner bay features a glazing bar sash window on each floor. To the left of the corner bay, there are three glazing bar sash windows on each floor, followed by a range with four plain sash windows. The right side of the building, facing Derby Street, has a blank wall on the upper floor to the left and a glazing bar sash window to the right.
