Description

The Churchill memorial, located on the south-west side of the General Cemetery in Nottingham, is a Grade II listed memorial obelisk dating from 1838. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a truncated obelisk set on an inscribed square pedestal and base. This memorial was erected by the Directors of the General Cemetery Company in honor of Daft Smith Churchill, a fellow director who tragically died in a well-known shipwreck off the Farne Islands.
