Description
Numbers 3 to 9 on Ilkeston Road are a row of four houses, now used as houses and shops, dating from the late 18th century and restored in the late 20th century. They are built of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and feature concrete tile roofs with a single ridge and two gable stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The buildings are three storeys high and have a six-window range. The ground floor has continuous replica wooden shopfronts beneath a cornice, featuring glazing bar shop windows and recessed doors. On the first floor, there are glazing bar sash windows with wedge lintels and double keystones. The second and fifth windows include central mullions. The upper level has similar window styles, but with smaller windows set in plain openings.
