Description

Valley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-16th century, with a rear service wing likely added later. It has an L-shaped plan and is constructed of timber framing with plaster. The roof is hipped, featuring plain tiles on the front and pantiles on the rear. The building is two storeys high and has a three-cell main range that originally included a cross passage entry. There are various 19th and 20th-century casement windows, and the doorway is asymmetrical, featuring a plank door with a moulded architrave. Each wing contains an internal stack. Inside, the hall showcases very fine heavily roll-moulded floor beams and joists, along with a panelled screen that has moulded muntins against the cross passage. The fireplaces in both the hall and parlour are adorned with carved beams and remain largely in original condition, although the rest of the interior has been significantly modernised.
