Description
Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century. A rear wing was added around 1976. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof, and has one and a half storeys. It has a three-cell layout and features mid-20th century small-paned casement windows, along with two tall eyebrow-type dormers. The entrance door is boarded. There is an internal stack with a square shaft and another stack located against the left gable end, positioned behind the roof ridge. The right half of the facade includes a lean-to addition, likely from the 18th century, with the roof extending over it. The frame consists of three bays, showcasing modest but largely intact studding. Inside, the hall and parlour have floor joists that span the full width of the building, all set flat, with those in the hall being of irregular section. There is an open fireplace in the hall featuring an original lintel, and the roof structure includes clasped purlins.
