Description
The Swan is a public house that dates back to the mid-16th century. It features a timber frame with roughcast render and a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-cell plan. There are three windows, which are 19th and 20th-century casements. The entrance is a lobby with a six-panel raised and fielded door, where the upper two panels are glazed, framed by a moulded architrave and topped with a bracketed hood. The building has a cove eaves cornice and includes an internal stack as well as an external stack on the right-hand gable end. To the right side, there is a single-storey wing. The interior has been significantly modernised, but the ground floor still retains some good moulded beams and joists, along with one original moulded mullion window. A linenfold-panelled partition was removed during internal alterations in 1958 and is now located in the parish church.
