Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres north-west of Four Sisters Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th to 17th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a thatched roof. The structure consists of three bays and features a midstrey with double doors facing north. One bay has been reconstructed, indicating a former opening at this location. While there are later additions to the exterior, they are not considered of special interest. Inside, the barn has posts with knees and mortices for former arch braces that remain visible on the tie beams. The walls are studded and sit on a red brick plinth, with down braces and a clasped purlin roof.
