Description
TG 2308 NW LONDON STREET (south side) 16/472 - Nos. 60 and 62 - II Former cafe now shop with C16 cellar. C19. Yellow brick, roof not visible. 3 storeys plus cellar. 8 bays. Late C20 shopfront. Door to upper floors on extreme right. Sash windows throughout with rubbed brick flat arches. Glazing bars except in the right-hand, 1st floor 3 bays. Parapet wall. Fine early C20 cafe ceiling with moulded plaster acorn and oak-leaf surrounds to the stained glass rectangular lights. The C19 cellar has one side chamber with a 4-centre profile extending beneath the pavement. The C16 cellar is off-centre to the right and away from the street line. To the south is a large stack with a timber bressumer and later brick blocking to the fireplace. Right-hand stackside doorcase with rectangular fanlight. Central doorway in west wall with a chamfered, pointed arch. The doorway in the north wall has roll-moulded chamfer jambs and a Tudor arch with plain spandrels.
