Description
Jules Cafe is a house that has been converted into a cafe. It dates back to the 17th century but was refronted in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building features rough cast brick that includes some fragments of timber framing, topped with a slate roof. There is a chimney stack on the north gable.
The east front of the building is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are 4-pane sashes set beneath plastered wedge lintels with stone sills. The stone sills cut through a projecting band. On the ground floor, there is a pilastered 19th-century shop front with a moulded cornice. This front has two windows, each with three lights, flanking a recessed entrance that features a two-leaf glazed door. Additionally, timber framing is visible in the short wing at the rear of the building.
