Description

Corner House is a house dating back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century and a later restoration in the late 20th century. The house has a timber-frame construction with rendered infill between the timbers, set upon a base of coursed rubble, and a roof covered in machine tiles. It comprises two framed bays aligned east to west, and features a gable-end stack on the western side.

The north front is jettied and extends over two storeys, featuring two windows: a 4-light and a 3-light casement. On the ground floor are a single-light casement to the left and two 2-light casements. The entrance, located in the left-hand (east) gable, is covered by a 20th-century gabled canopy extending over a 20th-century ledged and boarded door. The timber framing is arranged as two square panels high on each floor, with the jetty supported by curved brackets rising from pilasters. The gable-end truss incorporates four struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
