Description
52 and 53 Steep Hill are two houses that have been converted into a cafe. They date from the 18th century and early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature a hipped pantile roof with a brick corner stack and wooden gutters. They are two storeys tall and consist of two bays.
On the west side, there is a 19th-century half-glazed door on the left, which is flanked on the right by a glazing bar sash window. To the right of this is a larger casement window. All of these openings have wooden lintels. Above the door, on the left, is an 18th-century glazing bar sash window. The south side has external brick and stone stairs. To the left, there is another half-glazed door, with a plain sash window above it. The interior has not been inspected.
