Description
49 and 50 Steep Hill are two houses that have been converted into a gallery. They date from the 15th and 16th centuries and were restored in 1962. The exterior features coursed rubble and an arch-braced timber-framed second floor with rendered nogging. The roof is gabled and hipped, covered with pantiles, and has a brick gable stack. The building stands three storeys high and has five bays of framing. In the center, there are two half-glazed panelled doors, with the left door being recessed. To the left of the central doors is a glazing bar casement, which is flanked by a half-glazed door on the left and a larger casement on the right. To the right, there is a larger triple glazing bar casement. Above these, there are two 19th-century casements, and above those, four 20th-century casements. All the openings are topped with wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
