Description
Steep Hill House is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a gabled and hipped pantile roof, which has two gable stacks and a single ridge and side wall stacks. The house has a moulded plinth and a coped gable. It stands three storeys high and has five bays, arranged in an L-plan. The windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads.
The south front of the house features a central stone doorcase with a hood supported by consoles, and a 19th-century half-glazed door with an overlight. On either side of the door, there are two sashes. Above the door, there are five sashes on each floor, with the second-floor windows being smaller. The west gable has a regular arrangement of windows, with sashes on the left side and two blank windows to the right of each sash. The interior has not been inspected.
