Description
This is an early 19th-century former decorator's shop and house, later altered in the mid and late 19th century and now used as a shop and house. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings, with a rendered south gable and a pantile roof topped by a gable stack. It has a rendered plinth, a band at first-floor level, and bracketed eaves. The building is three storeys high and two bays wide, forming an L-shaped plan. It has a late 19th-century wooden shopfront with pilasters, featuring a stepped forward fascia with brackets and a cornice. A recessed off-centre door is flanked by single windows, all including overlights. Above the shopfront, there are two mid-19th-century pedimented square oriel windows with plain sashes. Above those, two 2-light casements are set within projecting stone surrounds. The interior was not inspected.
