Description

No. 14 The Strait is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the mid-18th century and was refronted in the 19th century. The front is finished in pebbledash with a design that mimics timber framing, and it features a pantile roof with a gable stack. The building has a brick-coped parapet with a half-round gable and stands two storeys tall with a single bay. The late 19th-century wooden shopfront spans the full width of the building, featuring a recessed half-glazed door on the left and an altered four-light shop window on the right, along with a hooded fascia. Above the shopfront, there is a three-light leaded casement window. The interior was refitted in the mid-20th century.
