Description
No. 7 The Strait is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and the late 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a renewed pantile roof with a gable stack. The eaves board and wooden gutter have also been renewed. It has two storeys plus attics and consists of three bays. The full-width shopfront, dating from the late 19th century, includes a fascia cornice, a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, and is flanked by three-light shop windows with wooden mullions. On the left side above the shopfront, there is a 19th-century bracket lamp. The upper storey features two plain sash windows and a dummy sash window on the right. There is also a segment-headed dormer above, which contains a two-light casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
