Description
25 and 26 The Strait are two houses that have been converted into two houses and two shops. They were built in the early 19th century and are constructed of brick with stone dressings, featuring a rendered north gable and a slate roof with a ridge stack. The eaves are decorated with wooden modillions. The building has three storeys and four bays.
The windows are glazing bar sash windows with rubbed brick heads, and there are half-glazed panelled doors. The 19th-century wooden shopfront includes pilasters and, in the centre, three doors with round heads, keystones, and fanlights. To the left, there is an altered three-light shop window, and to the right, a four-light shop window with wooden mullions and transoms. Above the shopfront, there are four sash windows on each floor, with the second-floor windows being smaller. The interior has not been inspected.
