Description
29 The Strait is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century and was refronted in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a corrugated sheet roof. It stands three storeys high and has two bays. The full-width wooden shopfront features panelled pilasters and a central splayed doorway with a glazed door, flanked by single windows that have top lights. Above the shopfront, there are two mid-19th century square wooden oriel windows with cornices and margin light casements. Further up, there are two glazing bar sash windows with rubbed brick heads. The rear range, which dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, has a hipped and gabled concrete tile roof. The adjoining south range was rebuilt around 1975. The interior has not been inspected.
