Description
Nos. 1 and 1A on St Andrew's Hill are former shops that were originally part of a 16th-century timber-frame building, although much of this is concealed by a 20th-century exterior. The structure is made of red brick and features a flat roof. The right side of the building is two storeys high and has four irregularly spaced windows on the first floor. There are two 20th-century shopfronts, with an early 19th-century imitation on the right side and a bowed window on the left. To the left, there is an entry to a yard. The first-floor sash windows have glazing bars and are flanked by side lights and pilasters on the right side. Additionally, the right side of the building projects slightly and has a stepped parapet.
