Description

Water Gate is a Grade II* listed structure located in The Close. This water-gate dates back to the 15th century and has undergone alterations and renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of flint with stone dressings and features a stone arch, along with a brick addition. The building stands two storeys high and has a wide central four-centre arch, with a pedestrian arch to the right. To the left of the arch, there is a turret. A central dormer-casement window from the 20th century is also present. The site is scheduled as an ancient monument.
