Description
No. 26 The Close is an early 19th-century house constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. The building stands two storeys high and features three bays. The central door is flanked by two attached fluted Doric columns and has a triglyph frieze architrave topped with a small hood. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight adorned with intricate curvilinear tracery. To the left, there is a two-storey bay window. The property has sash windows throughout, which include glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches. The roof is hipped, and access to the street is via five steps that are accompanied by cast-iron railings. Additionally, there are footscrapers and two decorated coal hole covers.
