Description
16, The Close is a Grade II* house built around 1850, incorporating earlier architectural details. The structure is made of flint and ashlar with brick and features a pantile roof. It has an L-shaped plan and the west elevation consists of two storeys with four widely spaced windows on the first floor. The left-hand off-centre door is adorned with a fanlight, flat pilasters, and a simple Ionic hood. The house has sash windows throughout, which include glazing bars, segmental arches, and brick rusticated surrounds. There is one 20th-century casement window on the first floor to the left.
