Description
No. 14A The Close is a house dating from the 19th century, with a core from the 17th century. It features a flint plinth and rendered, painted brickwork, topped with pantile roofs. The building has a three-storey rear block and an off-axis two-storey front block, which is accompanied by single-storey side blocks. The central doorway of the two-storey block has a bolection panelled door, flanked by flat pilasters with a fluted architrave and a rectangular fanlight above. There are small casement windows on either side. The left single-storey block contains a 17th-century casement, while the right block has a 20th-century casement. Above the central door, there is a 19th-century mullion and transom window. Additionally, there is a 19th-century three-light casement window located to the left of centre in the rear block. The single-storey blocks have forward sloping monopitch roofs.
