Description
Numbers 8 and 8A, along with the adjoining garden wall to the southeast, are a pair of houses dating from around 1820. They are constructed of red brick and feature a hipped slate roof with two rear brick chimneys. The buildings are two storeys high and have three first-floor windows. The central entrance has a panelled double-leaf door with an overlight that includes lattice glazing bars, set in panelled reveals. This entrance is flanked by two Tuscan half-columns and topped with a plain entablature and a small hood. The windows throughout the property are 16-pane sashes, each set under flat gauged brick arches. A paired modillion cornice runs along the top. To the left, a high garden wall has a round-headed door with a gauged brick arch. The wall on the right forms the facade of No. 8A and features ground and first-floor sash windows to the right of the door. The roof is not visible due to a parapet with flat stone coping.
