Description

This is a row of six houses located at 4-12 Valentine Street, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with a black pantile roof. Each house is two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay and quoins projecting 4 ½ inches. The central bay of each house features a panelled door with a round-arched fanlight, incorporating moulded imposts and a keystone. The door is surrounded by plain brickwork with decorated consoles supporting a hood. Sash windows are found throughout, featuring glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches; however, number 2 has 20th-century casement windows. A simple brick cornice tops the facades.
